Highline Magazine is a connection to the unique mountain environment and culture of Canadas Rocky Mountains. We feature a wide range of topicsfrom summer and winter sports to environmental issues, local heroes, health, humour and more. Based in the gateway to the Rockies, our content is largely local and has a distinctly authentic Canadian Rockies flavour.
Wed love to hear your online article ideas. But before you send us your content, please read the following guidelines. Theyll help you understand what were after. It’s also a good idea to scroll through other HighlineOnline.ca articles to get a feel for the style and focus of our content before submitting queries to our Editor.
Highline Magazine does not currently pay for online articles. This is a cooperative effort to give local writers and creative people a chance to let their talents fly, to get some more exposure, and to have fun doing it!
You may submit a full article (see Style Guide below) or an idea.
- If you submit a full article post, keep in mind that our Editor may come back to you with some suggestions and/or may edit it to make it suitable for HighlineOnline.ca. Read carefully through the Style Guide for tips on formatting and style.
- If you submit a story idea, please include its angle, suggested Department, direction, elements, sources, proposed length basically anything you think is important. Our Editor will get back to you with some feedback as soon as possible.
- For both options, please indicate the availability of photographs or illustrations (both maximum width of 600 px) that can be submitted with the story.
We are looking for unique content for HighlineOnline.ca and not content that has already been posted on a blog or featured elsewhere. Its OK to replicate an idea so long as the content isnt exactly the same.
Please send your article and/or ideas to Corrie DiManno at corrie[at]highlineonline.ca. with Article: [insert your story idea] in the Subject Line. If you are submitting an article, please attach as a Word file and save the file as [Article Title]_[Your Initials]. Photos and illustrations submitted with your article should be sized to a maximum width of 600 pixels. This will speed up the process on our end. Thanks!
