Not Just Another Pretty Face

If you were at the Canmore showing of Pretty Faces last night we’re willing to bet you woke up wishing for snow this morning — because we sure did! The packed house at the Cornerstone Theatre was treated to some of the best ski movie footage that enthusiasts can hope to see this year. And the stars of the movie? Well these women did not disappoint. For the first time ever, an entire female cast threw down sick back flips, landed insane cork 9s and dropped some of the baddest cliffs the rest of us only dream about. Featuring terrain right next door and mountain girls that we can all relate to, this film successfully replaces what was once a dream for little girls with what is now reality. It’s not a boys club and you don’t have to strive to be “one of the guys”– you can just get out there and shred; like a girl.

Leah Evans, founder of Girls Do Ski and Girls Day Out, signs autographs and chats with up-and-coming skiers.

Registration for this year's Girls Do Ski camps starts November 1st.

The line up was out the door! So great to see the support for women in sports and growth of young girls in the ski industry.

From L-R, Sam, Madison and Harper were all pumped for the movie to start. These girls told me they are all skiers and all three of them say Lake Louise is their favourite hill. Way to go girls! Shred hard this winter.

The energy in this room was off the charts! These aspiring young skiers had the chance to meet their idols in person. We think there are some bright futures in that crowd right there!
